The Open Recognition community showed up to the Badge Summit in 2023! Open Recognition is an approach born out of the practice of open badges that explores and promotes practices, tools and policies that improve and expand the opportunities for individuals and communities to be recognized and to contribute to the recognition of others.

Criteria
- Attendees of the Badge Summit 2023 either in person or virtual may claim a membership badge.
- Claiming this badge opens up access to the Badge Summit 2023 Open Recognition community, where you may give and receive recognition based on participation in the event.
- The goal of this community is to better develop the practice of open recognition within the digital badges community, in addition to the theory of recognition that is advanced through the day-to-day work by badge community members and the and knowledge-sharing at the Summit.
